Behind the artist.

After some adventuring & attending colleges in North Carolina & Upstate New York, Mara graduated from SUNY Cortland with a degree in exercise science. Unfortunately it didn’t take her long after finishing school to begin realizing her true passion was the beauty industry. Being the motivated woman she is, she wasted no time enrolling in Cosmetology School at Anousheh School of Hair in Binghamton, New York.

Mara wasn’t in hair school long before she became super excited to get behind the chair. She decided to spend as much time as possible assisting at Meraki Salon Lofts, in hopes that she would be ready to take on clients the second she completed her program & earned her license. She worked her butt off & spent countless hours diving deep into color education, cutting & styling techniques & her true love, hand tied hair extensions.

She was certified in the Habit Hand Tied Extension Method in 2021. By this time, Mara had spent so much time learning tips & tricks from other methods taught to her by the salon owner, Jenna Hall, that she quickly began applying tweaks here & there to customize every install for her individual client needs.
